Although we’ve come to the end of the road Still I can’t let you go It’s unnatural, you belong to me, I belong to you Come to the end of the road Still I can’t let you go It’s unnatural, you belong to me, I belong to you
Today, I went to Cal State Long Beach because I needed resources for my PoliSci research paper. I brought my friend, Ryan, with me to carpool but when we got to Long Beach, we were just both exhausted and terribly hungry so I just took pictures of the pages of the book I needed and left hoping to get some Salo-salo or Goldilock’s from Cerritos because Ryan never had those before.
But, while we were on Studebaker, we passed by Palo Verde and I got really excited and pretty much screamed, “RYAN, MY FAVORITE PIZZA PLACE IS OVER THERE!” And he was just like okay great let’s get on the 605 already. But we made a wrong turn and then hit Stearns. I got even more excited and said, “IT’S HERE!!! PALO VERDE AND STEARNS!!!”
So I guess, he was just like, oh okay let’s just go there, and shit I wanted to go so I busted a bitch and got my ass to Marri’s quickly.
OMG, when we walked in, the place was like Buca di Beppo! With booths and a really confusing floor plan! haha
I wasn’t gonna order anything else other than pizza so we were just like alright, we’ll get a large thin-crust pepperoni pizza. We had to get thin because I remembered my dad’s coworker, Chris, telling me that I HAVE TO get thin crust if I ever eat at the restaurant. And also, I had to get fancy and get some coke with it because that’s just how I eat my pizza :)
Wait time was like 10 minutes but for two very hungry people, 10 minutes seemed like 2 hours!
Anyway, when that hot pan of pizza with that recently melted cheese came to our table, I just got so happy! I was ELATED. I took my first bite and ahhh! I got the same feeling Anton Ego got when he took a bite out of Remy’s ratatouille! It was delicious! I cannot emphasize enough how delicious this pizza is! Chris was right and thin crust was amazing. It was crunchier and the combination of pepperoni, the crust, and the sweet and tangy marinara sauce was perfect!
Even Ryan, the connoisseur of everything, said he liked it!
Marri’s pizza is pretty much like this: the toppings and the cheese are switched; so the pepperoni we got is under a bed of hot and melted mozzarella cheese, which means while it was cooking in the oven, the pepperoni and the pizza sauce were making magical taste together.
For dessert, we had a roll of cannoli. We weren’t really expecting the legit Italian recipe but it had ricotta cheese filling and if you are into that, then you should definitely try it!
Best part of this meal is that it’s free! haha just kidding but thanks to Ryan because he treated me for the best pizza ever!
I cannot describe this pizza. I LOVE it; Ryan liked it. Momma Chiemi liked it. You have to try it. It is worth the 20-minute drive to Long Beach (not during rush hour). It’s very convenient; they are located right off the 405 Palo Verde exit on Palo Verde and Stearns. You will NOT regret it. I would not be up at 4 in the morning writing this if my experience was not amazing. Ahh! I want some right now again actually!
